DATU LAPULAPU RUN 2025 WAIVER

PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

IMPORTANT: READ CAREFULLY BEFORE AGREEING

Welcome to Eagles Digital Hub and Datu LapuLapu Run!

By registering for and participating in the Datu LapuLapu Run 2025 (the “Event”), scheduled to take place on May 4, 2025, in Lapu-Lapu City, I, the undersigned participant, or the parent/guardian of a minor participant, acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that participating in a running event is physically demanding and involves inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, illness, falls, contact with other participants, effects of weather (heat, humidity, rain, lightning), road and surface conditions, and traffic. I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for this event, and have not been advised by a medical professional to refrain from participation.

2. Release of Liability

I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, and discharge the event organizers, Datu LapuLapu Eagles Club (DLEC), The City Government of Lapu-Lapu, the City Tourism Office, SK Federation of Lapu-Lapu City, race officials, sponsors, volunteers, medical personnel, and all affiliated individuals and entities (collectively referred to as the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from my participation in the Event, including injury, illness, death, or property damage.

3. Medical Treatment & Consent

I authorize the Event medical personnel to provide emergency medical treatment in the event of an accident, injury, or illness and understand that medical personnel may not always be readily available. I assume all risks associated with medical treatment and acknowledge that I am responsible for any costs incurred.

4. Photo & Media Release

I grant the Released Parties the unrestricted right to use my name, image, voice, and likeness in any photographs, videos, recordings, or other media captured during the Event for promotional, advertising, and marketing purposes without compensation.

5. Event Rules & Disqualification

I agree to abide by all race rules and instructions from Event officials. I understand that failure to comply with the rules (e.g., unauthorized assistance, unsportsmanlike conduct, littering, or cheating) may result in disqualification and removal from the Event without refund.

6. Minors & Parental Consent

If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must read and accept this waiver on the minor’s behalf. The undersigned parent/guardian agrees to all terms and conditions herein and assumes full responsibility for the minor’s participation.

7. Governing Law & Final Agreement

This Waiver is governed by the laws of the Philippines. I certify that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the terms outlined above. I acknowledge that by signing or electronically accepting this waiver, I am waiving substantial legal rights.

By agreeing, I confirm that I have read and understood this Waiver and Release of Liability and agree to all terms voluntarily.
